Saudi Foundation, UNEP Partner to Boost Sustainability, Cut Food Waste

RIYADH: The Grace Preservation Foundation signed a cooperation agreement with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) on Tuesday to enhance sustainability and reduce food.

According to the report, The agreement aims to boost community awareness through joint initiatives and support national development goals by strengthening partnerships in the charitable sector.

It includes frameworks for knowledge exchange, joint programs, and the development of scientific tools for data analysis and informed decision-making.

Foundation Secretary-General Abdullah Abdulrahman bin Saeed said the agreement aligns with Vision 2030 and national priorities in sustainability and food security, emphasizing the importance of strategic collaboration.

Key initiatives under the agreement include awareness campaigns, educational programs, food waste competitions, and participation in UNEP’s “Recipe for Change” project. 

In order to encourage environmental stewardship and food preservation, seasonal activities will also be started during Ramadan, the Hajj, and UN international days.
