In a special anti-terrorism court, three PTI leaders—Sadaqat Abbasi, Waqas Qayoom, and Umar Tanveer Butt—formally retracted their statements against the PTI, which they had previously made as approvers.

During the hearing of the May 9 cases in Rawalpindi, all three submitted requests to deny their confessions. The police investigative teams subsequently removed their names from the list of approvers and included them in the list of accused.

The defense lawyer, Dr. Babar Awan, stated that the police cases were based on the statements of the approvers, but this foundation has now collapsed.

The court approved the requests for exemption from attendance for 24 accused, including Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Zain Qureshi, Shibli Faraz, and Zartaj Gul, and adjourned the hearing until December 2.

Additionally, the police investigative teams submitted supplementary charge sheets against founding chairman of PTI, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Shibli Faraz, and Umar Ayub in court.

It is noteworthy that a total of 368 PTI workers have been named as accused in these cases.
