JEDDAH: The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that over 190,000 Umrah visas have been issued to international pilgrims since the start of the Umrah season for the Hijri year 1447 AH.
The season officially began on Tuesday, 14 Dhu Al-Hijjah 1446 AH, with visa applications available through the “Nusuk” platform, part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to enhance the pilgrimage experience in line with Vision 2030.
Umrah permit issuance commenced on Wednesday, 15 Dhu Al-Hijjah, through the Nusuk app, a unified digital platform offering a range of services to pilgrims, including permit booking and access to government support.
The early rise in visa applications comes on the heels of a successful Hajj season, which saw improved procedures, enhanced service efficiency, and upgraded technical infrastructure.
