JEDDAH / ALULA / RIYADH: Saudi Arabia is showcasing a variety of vibrant summer destinations this season, offering residents and visitors diverse experiences from coastal adventures and desert stargazing to lush urban green spaces.
In Jeddah, the city’s scenic coastline has become a major draw, featuring modern beaches, luxury resorts, and water sports. A centerpiece of this marine appeal is the Jeddah Yacht Club, which combines sweeping waterfront views with a full maritime experience. The club includes an academy accredited by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), offering training in sailing, wingfoiling, high-speed boating, and more. These initiatives support the Kingdom’s drive to boost marine tourism and diversify the economy.
Meanwhile, AlUla is captivating astronomy lovers and photographers with its unmatched desert landscapes and clear, star-filled skies. Attractions like Al Gharameel Nature Reserve, Arch Rock, and the AlUla Manara center offer immersive experiences in astrophotography and celestial observation. Recognized as the first official Dark Sky Park in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf by DarkSky International, AlUla promotes low light pollution and deepens public interest in astronomical sciences. Workshops, guided night tours, and camping options enrich the visitor journey and blend natural beauty with cosmic discovery.
In the heart of the capital, Riyadh has unveiled Shuaib Ghadhwana Park, a new recreational space developed along a tributary of Wadi Hanifa. Spanning five kilometers, the park is a highlight of the Green Riyadh initiative and features 22 km of trails, 13 playgrounds, multi-sport courts, and over 15,000 native trees. With shaded seating, eco-friendly irrigation systems, and modern amenities, the park offers a sustainable and inclusive environment for relaxation, fitness, and family outings.
These seasonal destinations reflect Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment under Vision 2030 to enhance quality of life, promote tourism, and create sustainable, accessible spaces that celebrate the Kingdom’s diverse natural and cultural heritage.
