VIENNA: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated in the 53rd session of the Industrial Development Board (IDB) of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), held in Vienna.
The Saudi delegation was led by the Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs Eng. Khalil bin Salamah, alongside Saudi Ambassador to Austria Dr. Abdullah bin Tawlah and senior officials from the industrial and mining sectors.
In his address, the vice minister reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to building a competitive, sustainable industrial sector and called for stronger international and public-private cooperation.
The board reviewed key strategic, financial, and programmatic issues, including the 2026–2027 budget, climate-neutral industry, and preparations for the 21st UNIDO General Conference, which Saudi Arabia will host in Riyadh from November 23 to 27, 2025. A promotional event was also held to showcase the Kingdom’s readiness and its efforts in industrial innovation and transformation.
