Sheffield: Michal Szubarczyk, a 14-year-old snooker prodigy, is aiming to break Ronnie O'Sullivan's record and become the youngest player to qualify for the World Championships at the Crucible.
The Polish teen has already made an impact on the snooker scene, winning U16 and U18 European Championship titles in March and reaching the final of an open-age event, where he finished runner-up to Liam Highfield.
His impressive performances earned him a two-year World Snooker Tour card.
Szubarczyk is now targeting the 2025 World Championship qualification, aiming to surpass O'Sullivan's 33-year-old record of qualifying for the Crucible at 16.
He is set to face Scotland's Dean Young in the first round of qualifiers on 8 April at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield, with the final matches on 15 April.
If successful, Szubarczyk will also become the youngest player ever to win a qualifying match at the World Championships.
To secure his spot, Szubarczyk needs to win four consecutive matches, ultimately earning a place at the Crucible.
